Hello, dear user! This article describes in detail each stage of installing our program.
Before proceeding to the main steps, you need to disable Windows active protection to allow our program to work correctly and stably.
Metaskins uses an updated launch mechanism that improves application stability and security, but this can also cause false detections by various antivirus programs or the built-in Windows Defender.
To protect our program from copying, we use an encryption system. Because of this, antivirus software cannot fully scan the program, which triggers warnings about "potentially unwanted software" in antivirus databases.
Warnings are not an indication of viruses or other malware in Metaskins, but a standard antivirus response to such programs.
🔧 Disabling Windows Defender Main Module
1.1 Open Security Center
Navigate to: Start → Settings → Update & Security → Windows Security and click "Open Windows Security".
1.2 Go to Protection Settings
In Windows Security, select the "Virus & threat protection" tab (shield icon). Scroll down and click "Manage settings" under "Virus & threat protection settings".
1.3 Disable the Following Options
❌ Real-time protection
❌ Cloud-delivered protection
❌ Automatic sample submission
❌ Tamper Protection
🛡️ Disabling SmartScreen Filter
2.1 Open Reputation-Based Protection
Go to "App & browser control", then to "Reputation-based protection settings".
2.2 Disable the Listed Options
❌ Check apps and files
❌ SmartScreen for Microsoft Edge
❌ Potentially unwanted app blocking
⚡ Disabling Exploit Protection
3.1 Open Exploit Protection Settings
Go back to "App & browser control", then to "Exploit protection settings".
3.2 Set All Options to "Off by default"
Set the status to "Off by default" for all parameters in this section.
Restart your computer to apply the changes.
🌐 Disabling File Scanning in Chrome Browser
4.1 Open Browser Settings
Click the three dots in the top-right corner of Chrome → "Settings".
4.2 Go to Security Section
In the left menu, select "Privacy and security", then click "Security".
4.3 Disable Safe Browsing
Select the "No protection (not recommended)" option for "Safe Browsing".
🔶 Disabling File Scanning in Yandex Browser
5.1 Open Browser Settings
Click the three lines in the top-right corner of Yandex Browser → "Settings".
5.2 Disable the Listed Options
Go to the "Security" section and disable the following settings:
❌ Check downloaded files
❌ Protection against phishing and malicious software
Now let's proceed directly to installing our program.
📝 Register on the Website
Go to metaskins.gg
Click "Sign Up / Log In" in the top-right corner
At the bottom of the form, select "Not registered yet? Sign up"
Fill in the fields: username, e‑mail, password, and confirm password
After registration, log into your account
📥 Download the Launcher
In your account, click "Download Launcher"
Choose a folder to save the file
If the download doesn't start:
Make sure Windows Defender is disabled
Return to the beginning of this guide and review the instructions
⚙️ Install and Launch the Launcher
Run the downloaded file as Administrator
On first launch, the program may take up to five minutes to load — this is normal:
During this time, the low‑poly map for Dota 2 is being downloaded
After launch, enter the username and password you created during registration
🎮 Launching the Game
In the launcher, hover over the desired game and click "Play".
